Cultural Hub of Bydgoskie Przedmieście in Toruń. Premiere 14th Feb. 2026
What is a home? A place to which one returns? A collection of memories etched into its walls? Or perhaps a state of mind that we carry within us, regardless of our address? These questions are posed anew on 14 February 2026 in the production The House Where…, staged in the historic tenement house at 50 Bydgoska Street in Toruń. It is a story about the people who, for over 130 years, have shaped the history of this place, and about the house itself – a silent witness to everyday events, emotions and changes.
The performance The House Where… is based on the memories and stories of the building’s former and current residents. The audience do not take their seats in the auditorium – they are guided through the building’s various rooms, where the spectators experience fragments of a world woven from human experiences, plans, dreams, arguments and loves. The very walls of the building provide the backdrop to these stories. Perhaps its ghosts do too. Silent, passive… but are they possible? The overarching theme of the performance is identity – individual and collective – and the transformations that have taken place in the House on Bydgoska Street throughout its existence.
