The plot of The maids by Jean Genet became to us a story of people locked in a theatre. The theatre - as the only escape from the daily evil, as a machine giving a meaning for meaningless ones, beauty for ugly ones, generosity for bad ones, and hatred for loving ones. The space in which we spy on the characters from this drama is a space of the maids' souls. The stuffy soul. The injured soul. The soul which is breathing only due to a misterious ceremony.
